God Speaks
The Last Three Plagues, the Passover and the Feast of Unleavened Bread
Verse of the Day: [God has a purpose in all He does or allows.] “Then the LORD said to Moses, ‘Go to Pharoah, for I have hardened his heart and the hearts of his officials so that I may perform these signs of Mine among them that you may tell your children and grandchildren how I dealt harshly with the Egyptians and how I performed my signs among them, and that you may know that I am the LORD.” (Exodus 10:1-2 NIV 2011)

Reflection
Consider the following questions regarding Exodus 10-12
> 1. What does this chapter tell me about God?
> 2. What does this chapter tell me about the human beings He created?
Here is one possible answer to each of these questions. Ask the Holy Spirit if there are any others for you personally to ponder.
Exodus 10
1. God sees everything from His eternal perspective and has a good reason for all He does or allows.
2. In their willfulness, people may not reccognize good advice, therefore reject it.
Exodus 11
1. If they will listen and obey, God will inform the leaders of His people what He is about to do so that they can prepare.
2. God’s people often find favor with their neighbors even in the midst of persecution.
Exodus 12
1. God will protect His people from ultimate harm, if they will follow His instructions.
2. People cannot have things both ways; either do things God’s way or face the consequences.
Prayer
> 3. How might I pray regarding Exodus 10-12?
Dear Father God and Passover Lamb, Jesus, thank You for working out a way for me to be forgiven and set free. LORD God, You see everything from Your eternal perspective and have good reasons for all You do or allow. In my willfulness, I may not recognize good advice, therefore reject it. Holy Spirit, please give me the wisdom not to do that, but to heed sound judgment. You promise in the Bible, if we will listen and obey, You, God, will inform people of what You are about to do so that we can prepare. People who do this often find favor with their neighbors even in the midst of persecution. You will protect Your obedient people from ultimate and eternal harm, when they follow Your instructions. People cannot have things both ways; either we do things You way, LORD God, or face the consequences. Help me apply the blood of Jesus, the Lamb of God, to the portals or entryways in my life. Because You see His blood, You passover my sins and take away my bent to sinning. May all adult believers, especially parents, pass on to children the meaning and importance of following the instructions You have placed in the scriptures. May my life overflow with practical, everyday worship of You, my Savior and my Lord. May I bring You glory. LORD. AMEN
Action (Ask God, the Holy Spirit, if He wants you to work on one of the suggestions below or something else more personal that He points out.)
> 4. What action does the LORD want me to take in response to Exodus 10-12? With the help of God’s Holy Spirit:
- I will encourage people in authority to support the people’s right to be free and to worship (or not) as an individual chooses–in private, in groups, and in public.
- I will get set free of a hardened heart by humbling myself before God, honestly confessing my sins, apologizing to those I have harmed, and seeking the Lord’s help in changing both my attitude and behavior.
- I will look for ways to pass on to future generations what God has done for all people.
- I will research how a Jewish Seder (celebration of the Passover) is conducted and what each part means. (The Rational Haggadah by Dennis Prager is an example of such a resource.)
