We Respond

Biblical principle from the passage:

God often has a higher purpose in mind when He rescues people from bad sitations.

Related Verse(s): Romans 1:24-32; Psalm 36:1-12; Hebrews 11:8-12

Prayer based on the passage or principle:

O LORD God, thank You for being the God who sends angels (or people) to lead us out of corruption or evil. Help us to follow closely and not turn back as Lot’s wife did. Please help us to deal appropriately with those who engage in evil behavior like: the men who stormed Lot’s house; Lot’s response to them; and Lot’s daughters’ solution to their social isolation. Even Abraham, the father of the faith, gave in to the fear of man, when he asked Sarah to say she was his sister. LORD, may I be so filled with the fear of God that I don’t fear anything else. May I trust You to fulfill Your promises in spite of my foolish sinfulness. In Your mercy and grace, may I turn to You and pray for forgiveness or myself and others. Thank You for miracle babies like Isaac. Every baby is a miracle. Thank You for the plans You have for single moms and their children like Hagar and Ishmael. Whomever and wherever they are, watch over them and protect them from dangers and enemies seen and unseen. May leaders in this day and age be like Abimelech and Phicol and recognize Your blessings on people of faith like Abraham and make treaties with them. Then we will all bring You glory, LORD. AMEN
