Biblical principle from the passage:
Lying and deception are anathema to the LORD God, but He will deal with it or work in spite of it as He sees fit.
Related Verse(s): Genesis 3:1-24; Exodus 1:15-22, 20:16; Ephesians 4:25
Prayer based on the passage or principle:
O LORD, You are the God of truth. You do not condone lying and deception. However, because of Your omniscience, You allowed it in order to keep Your promise to Rebekah, that both the birthright and the blessing would go to the younger twin. The family line leading from Adam to Your promised Messiah would remain pure and undefiled. Thank You that Your sovereignty is not thwarted by my foolishness or sin. May the blessing Isaac gave Jacob be applied to me, to my nation and especially to my newly inaugurated president [Donald J. Trump, USA 1/20/2025]. Thank you for revealing Yourself and Your plans to Jacob in a dream. May I understand and apply the dreams You give me, and may I keep the promises I make to You. It would be self-deception to think that I could do so without the help of the Holy Spirit. Please lead me to my God-ordained spouse as You did Jacob, and help me to work long and hard for the one I love. This in time will bring You glory, LORD. AMEN
Applicable news item or story:
Throughout his administration, many people who knew of Joseph R. Binden’s mental decline denied or covered it up. Essentially, they deceived the American people. Now at the very end of his presidency, he preemptively pardoned many people who might reveal any other attempts at deception. But God will deal with it as He sees fit–in His time and in His way.
