We Respond

Reflection.

Consider the following questions regarding Leviticus  1-4

> 1. What does this chapter tell me about God?

> 2. What does this chapter tell me about the human beings He created?

Here is one possible answer to each of these questions. Ask the Holy Spirit if there are any others for you personally to ponder.

Leviticus  1-4 will be addressed as a unit.

    1. God the original lawgiver, made a way for those who broke His laws to be forgiven.

    2. People who break God’s laws need to follow His instructions to be forgiven.

Prayer

> 3. How might I pray regarding Leviticus 1-4?

Thank You, loving Father God, that You have chosen me to worship and serve You. Thank You that all of these instructions to the priests in the Tabernacle are meant to show the Israelites how to please You and receive Your forgiveness. I am not aware of any other so called god who has done that. I desire to please You by following Your instructions. Thank You for all the wonderful things You have provided for me, especially for Jesus dying and rising from the dead so that I can be forgiven. It will take eternity for me to recount them all, but I need to start now. Salt was to be added to all of the offerings. It both adds flavor and preserves food. Oh, how You add flavor to my life and preserve me from the rottenness of sin as I follow Your instructions. As I fellowship with You in the midst of everything I do, I will decrease the presence of sin and increase the sweetness of Your presence in my life. The more I yield to You, Holy Spirit, the less I experience the likelihood of sinning, either intentionally or unintentionally. Thank You! I increasingly desire to bring glory to Your name, LORD. AMEN

Action (Ask God, the Holy Spirit, if He wants you to work on one of the suggestions below or something else more personal that He points out.)

> 4. What action does the LORD want me to take in response to Leviticus 1-4? With the help of God’s Holy Spirit:

  • I will ask the LORD God how He wants me to worship or please Him, listen attentively for His answer and do what He says.
  • I will look for ways to support those who minister for the LORD, then do it.
  • I will set aside a block of time (daily, weekly, monthly and yearly) when I can interact with the LORD–both talking and listening.
  • I will seek forgiveness from God for the sins the Holy Spirit points out. Jesus’ death and resurrection are my perfect sin offering for both intentional and unintentional sins.
