Prayer
> 3. How might I pray regarding Psalms 1-2, 15. 22-24, 47, 68?
Gracious LORD God, You watch over the way of the righteous, but You allow the wicked to follow their own destructive way. You laugh at the arrogance of wicked rulers. Holy Spirit, please help me to be wise and righteous. Keep me alert so that I avoid walking, standing and sitting among evildoers. My God, You are greater than all the human rulers of the earth. I desire to serve You, LORD, with fear and celebrate Your rule with trembling. God, You promise that those who follow in Your ways will dwell on Your holy mountain. Those people who actually live out godly principles will be blessed. We can cry out to You even in the worst of circumstanses, as Jesus did on the cross. He experienced all the cruel aspects of Psalm 22 on my behalf. He made it possible for You, LORD God, to be my good shepherd. You lead Your people through all the circumstances of life. We are as helpless as sheep who need to be directed, protected and provided for. Thank You for protecting me from all of my enemies. You are the LORD God Almighty, the King of glory! Holy Spirit, please cause increasing numbers of people to turn to the LORD for cleansing and forgiveness. As a result, they will receive blessing and vindication. LORD, You reign over the nations while You are seated on Your holy throne. You will be exalted forever. The kings of the earth belong to You. All the people will extol You. Although You are mighty and powerful, You have compassion on the powerless–orphans, widows, prisoners, the lonely, the weary and the poor. People can turn to You in their need. When You answer, they will praise You for Your power, majesty and compassion. That’s how we bring You glory, LORD. AMEN
Action (Ask God, the Holy Spirit, if He wants you to work on one of the suggestions below or something else more personal that He points out.)
> 4. What action does the LORD want me to take in response to Psalms 1-2, 15, 22-24, 47, 68?
With the help of God’s Holy Spirit:
I will thank the LORD for being my shepherd, directing, protecting and providing for me in specific ways.
I will declare in public that the LORD God is seated on His holy throne and reigns over the nations.
I will turn to the LORD and admit my need for cleansing and forgiveness that I might receive blessing and vindication.
I will cooperate with God by finding practical ways to express His compassion for the powerless–orphans, widows, prisoners, the lonely, the weary and the poor.
