God Speaks

Pleas to the Great God who Saves or Rescues from Ruthless Enemies

Verse of the Day: May those who want to take my life be put to shame and confusion; may all who desire my ruin be turned back in disgrace. . . . But may all who seek You rejoice and be glad in You; may those who long for Your saving help always say, “The LORD is great!” (Psalms 70:2, 4 NIV 2011)

Prayer

> 3. How might I pray regarding Psalms 65-67, 69-70?

LORD God, I know from personal experience that You are concerned about both my soul and the environment. After all,You created both. I can look to You whenever I am concerned about the environment. Since You created it in all its beauty and complexity, You help human beings to sustain it. In fact, that is the assignment You gave us in the beginning. LORD, You interact with and intervene on behalf of myself and other people, especially those of us who have turned to You in faith. People and all of creation praise You, LORD God, for all You have done. You so graciously look with favor on people who turn to You. You rule over everything with equity. People all around the world praise You, LORD God, and look to You for salvation. God of Israel, save people and give them hope. We need to be rescued from so many issues and enemies. God, You are the only one who can truly save or rescue us. We so need to be saved from visible and invisible enemies. As You miraculously rescue us, may we give You all the glory, LORD. AMEN

Action (Ask God, the Holy Spirit, if He wants you to work on one of the suggestions below or something else more personal that He points out.)

> 4. What action does the LORD want me to take in response to Psalms 65-67, 69-70?

  • I will pray (read aloud back to God) Psalm 67 every day in the coming week and note what happens.
  • I will find a way to assist in spreading the knowledge of God around the world.
  • I will join others in worshiping and praising God at least once this week.
  • I will meditate on the awesomeness of the LORD God–Father, Son, and Spirit, focusing on both His character and His actions.
