Psalm 116 is a personal testimony of God’s faithfulness to an individual; people should follow this example and commitment to God.
Psalm 117, the shortest chapter in the Bible, exhorts people to praise the LORD.
Psalm 118 states the LORD is my strength and my defense; He has become my salvation. People are to give thanks to the LORD, for He is good; His love endures forever.
Prayer
> 3. How might I pray regarding Psalms 111-118?
LORD God, You are who You say You are, and You do what You say You will do. You always act on behalf of people and creation. We should respond appropriately. Holy Spirit, instruct me in how to pray that what is depicted in Psalm 112 comes to pass. May all people praise and exalt You, LORD, for Your kind activity on our behalf, especially those who are poor and lonely. LORD, even creation responds to Your commands and actions on behalf of Your people. May I always declare that the LORD God is far better than idols; other people should praise You as well. I hereby personally testify of God’s faithfulness to me as an individual. Other people should follow this example and commitment to God. I agree with Psalm 117, the shortest chapter in the Bible, which exhorts people to praise the LORD. O LORD, You are my strength and my defense. You have become my salvation. People are to give thanks to You, LORD, for You are good; Your love endures forever. May all mankind ever live to bring You glory, LORD. AMEN
Action (Ask God, the Holy Spirit, if He wants you to work on one of the suggestions below or something else more personal that He points out.)
> 4. What action does the LORD want me to take in response to Psalms 111-118?
With the help of God’s Holy Spirit:
I will pray that the outcome of the coming election, revival and redemption of multitudes will be the realization of what Psalm 112 depicts.
I will give personal testimony of God’s help and faithfulness in my life.
I will declare that God has designed today; I will rejoice in it regardless of my circumstaces.
I will give thanks to the LORD, for He is good; His love endured forever.
