I am a servant of Jesus Christ who put my faith in Him alone for salvation in 1964 as a sophomore in college. I was led to faith and discipled by fellow students involved in the Navigators ministry on my campus. As I taught blind and visually impaired children in the public schools in Illinois and Iowa, I was always very actively involved with various churches – mostly Baptist. From June 1985 – April 1986 I took a personal missionary trip to Thailand under the supervision of AMG International with the intention of teaching at a Christian school for the blind there. On my return I attended (then) Grand Rapids Baptist Seminary with the intention of returning to Thailand. God had other plans. After working with disabled adults in Sioux City, Iowa, in 1993 I returned to working with blind children in the Des Moines area and later in southeast Missouri. In 2004, I moved to the Chicago area to work with Reaching Indians Ministries International (RIMI) in their home office and became actively involved with Hope Community Church in Lake Villa, IL. I’ve especially focused on the prayer ministry. Pastor Wayne Okamoto challenged the congregation to read through the New Testament in 2021 using the 5x5x5 New Testament Reading Plan by Navigators. What I’ve written turns those chapters into prayers.
